Please see our Trek Nepal blog for more information Can I Bring the Kids?If your kids are snotty nosed, winging and precious about dust and a little walking, then for the sake of everyone concerned, leave them at home. However, if they are fun loving, bright, sensitive and inquisitive with normal limits of young life (like being able to walk for an hour maximum) then, from the age of five, they're welcome and will love the trip.
| People are Different in NaturePeople are different in nature, we know it because after 50 trips guiding people to the high trekking peaks of Nepal's Himalaya, we've seen the transformations. Lost Souls finding peace, people letting go the past, individuals and couples discovering a new enthusiasm for life.
We take people to nature because people are different in nature and while there we want to teach them why so they can take it home, not just memories but a wonderful new insight to a richer, more rewarding lifestyle. Each day on our journey we enjoy a session prior to or sometime during our walk where we sit and share the laws of nature. It's an hour or two each day of full mindfulness that can be applied to the walk and taken home. Learning, applying, practicing and eventually making a habit of living in harmony with nature. It's beyond the text books, Living Harmony Finding BalanceIt is a truly great achievement in your life when you finally throw away the guide books and opinions of others and let nature be your guide. At this time you have evolved yourself to be who you were meant to be.
You can become guided by nature, learning the arts of personal mastery from nature is as raw and honest as it gets. You become a self-determined individual on your own journey. Chris' seminars and personal life coaching programs help you recognise and understand your true nature, from this, you will have the shortcut to getting what you want in life, create a formula for mind control and self mastery, sustain an extremely high quality of life and celebrate awesome relationships. About the Trip
The trek takes around 10 days with two days either side of the trek in Kathmandu for preparation. During the ten days trekking you'll walk around 4-6 hours each day and have two days off.
Each day's trekking is relatively easy. Your luggage is carried by porters and you sleep in lodges each night. There's no rough and tough outdoorsy stuff on the trek itself. However, when we arrive at our daily destination you get the option of some serious side track exploration. For example, walking up to a climbing base camp to meet an expedition team or to a high monastery to meet enlightened monks and nuns. The daily trek is done slowly because we are acclimatising and this process is best done at a more leisurely walking pace. The side tracks are optional and we often split the group into more and less adventurous use of time. There is even the option of just resting and enjoying the company of local people. The weather in the Himalayas is unpredictable on a year to year basis and so, views, scenery and photography is never guaranteed for the whole trip but usually for some if not most. We walk in the shadow of Sagamatha, Mt Everest and other amazing and sacred mountains. It's an energy you just never forget. You'll need to be fairly fit, but there's five star (not really five star) trekking lodges all the way. There are beautiful monasteries, great laughing monks, amazing local Sherpa and Nepali people. You get treated like a king or queen (your preference) and our trekking guides look after everything from arrival in Kathmandu to departure and guarantee everything. (excludes the weather)... Safety is often an early question in people's enquiry and I need to be frank. The trail, the food, the walking, the journey is safe. Altitude acclimatisation is also safe provided we take the prescribed process of adjustment as our mantra... you can be guaranteed a few headaches, but little else. Gear is important. Most important, because of the amount of walking we do, boots come first. We always recommend boots be purchased at home and walked in during training. All else can be hired, bought and borrowed in Kathmandu for little more than $100... in fact we often include all gear (except boots and undies) in the costs... we even take you shopping. So, Nepal, the perfect combination of the physical and the spiritual, a land of inspiration, healing and amazing journeys... Most important, the motto of Nepal "expect the unexpected." and come join us on our next trip, May 2012. Chris Walker Other StuffWe trek off season because on season trekking is a little like Fifth Avenue New York on Christmas Eve... forget about it.. We go when the crowds are gone, the locals are relaxed and the trails are empty.. but that brings us to the "why is there no one there off season?" question... and the answer is...
Weather.. off season it can be cold, rainy, windy, sunny, misty or cloudy... whereas on season it can be cold, rainy, windy, sunny, misty or cloudy... I hope this makes sense but don't tell anyone .. off season is the same as on. Education.... I like to think that the added cost of me being on your trek adds some value.. Of course my Sherpa Staff can guide you, provide the hotel, food and sight seeing.. so what's left for me is to do what I do best... consult, teach, speak and share. Nature's Universal Laws are never so clear as they are in the Himalayas. So, we explore those laws, solve problems, chat, and do some VIP. Of course it's optional .. but you've included the cost for me to be there so you may as well take advantage. |
