Optimists are really pessimists in disguise. Pessimists have an optimism the world can't live up to. Realists are limited by the reality they can touch. Happiness - real happiness is one step beyond all those models that seem to run our society and the results prove, they don't work. See why here in this great article.
Add Comment According to nature's law, the natural state of all things is a state of flux, for humans the centre point around which all things fluctuate, is happiness. We do everything we can to fight that flux in happiness even resorting to resisting change, taking drugs, eating obsessively and creating false relationships that are not loving but sexually stimulating. We do whatever we can to argue with the flux of happiness and yet, we can't win. Nature's Law governs the entire universe, let alone your life. It governs every molecule, let alone your happiness. So why fight it? Here are 20 ways to improve your happiness by going with the flow living as nature intended and using the flux of happiness to improve the quality of your life.

About 90% of my Executive Coaching time is spent helping executives deal with difficult people. Mostly, the struggle comes from resistance - where people refuse to cooperate or even follow leadership guidance from the executive. This rarely happens in self-owned business for long because the front door is always open but in organisations, that door is shut due to legal, cultural and legislative controls. Hence, many execs in business' they don't own have to deal with massive doses of distraction, emotional unconsciousness and consequently placate people who really would be better off somewhere else. This article is as much about survival in business as a good human as it is about leadership. I hope you enjoy it.
Yesterday we spoke about contentment being the core of inner wealth and happiness from the inside out. We also covered the ground that defines external happiness as essential for our own motivation and yet extremely vulnerable to maintain.
We also made mention of the fact that some people who are internally unhappy are highly motivated to find external happiness and therefore become highly successful in any field of endeavour they put their mind to. In other words, unhappiness within makes people seek happiness outside themselves and this chase drives incredible effort. The downside of this model of inner unhappiness and outer happiness seeking is that when it comes to love and relationships the very seeking of happiness becomes high maintenance low intimacy, and a high probability of relationship failure. This can be seen quite often in the fields where people are incredibly successful and yet disastrous in their personal life. Today I would like to focus on maintenance cost. Are You The Happiest Person You Know? 20/02/2012
Are you the happiest person you know? Are you the happiest person in your office? Are you the happiest person in your family?
We have to be careful because if we are not the happiest person we know we will usually gravitate to those who look happier than we are in order to become happy. This usually leads to misguided choices. Much unwanted stress comes from pushing too hard in the hope that something, somewhere is going to finally make us feel happy. It won't. It's wiser to get happy, then go do... you'll be more calm, balanced and centred this way. Many people will say I am happier person because I am with my partner. Or, they might even say I am happier because I have my children. This form of happiness is a dependency that creates all manner of complications in relationships and business as well as dysfunction in child care. Happiness is an obligation not a choice. An unhappy person will seek happiness and sometimes in the most dangerous and self depreciating ways. A person who is not happy develops a huge ego in order to protect their unhappiness from the stimulation of anything that reminds them of how they really feel. The ego serves to protect them from feeling their own unhappiness. Podcast - This Week's Theme "Happiness" 20/02/2012

However there are some less obvious effects of stress that you also need to be familiar with such as: increased worry, unclear and foggy thinking, increased susceptibility to sinus infections and allergies. Stress causes loss of memory, changes in body chemistry, susceptibility to virus, and often drives secondary behaviours such as addictions and food allergies. So, dealing with stress at the root might be a great way to extend the length and quality of your life. Uncertainty creates stress. It is one of the single greatest causes of stress. At the bottom end of uncertainty is doubt and doubt is the enemy of health. Creating Certainty Through Instant Calm 16/02/2012
Mental turbulence creates uncertainty. So, it’s logical and practical to aspire to a process to deal with mental turbulence and bring about instant calm, and therefore certainty.
Certainty does not mean the absence of options. Certainty simply means that all the options have been explored and the variables fully understood. A turbulent mind cannot explore options with confidence. A turbulent mind will gravitate to the past, default to the obvious, and appeal to the opinions of others in order to gain some level of control. Calm can be obtained easily. One simply has to do take time off from work, away from stimulation, isolated from information, separated from responsibility, cared for by maintenance and service personnel, and given heaps of time. But who has all this time and maintenance personnel other then a few of the more wealthy individuals in the world. For the rest of us, calm must be obtained a little more easily. If you have a relationship, work in a team or just live alone for that matter, you'll understand the magic of maintenance. My friend doesn't. He spends more maintaining his car than he does on his relationship. I remember that phase of my first marriage well.
